Open door is pleased to announce that they have now introduced a multi occupancy substance free house to our growing charitable service.
This new addition offers a warm, safe and welcoming environment with some support element from our fantastic volunteers.
It is aimed at housing our homeless and vulnerable ‘friends’.
It offers them a chance to gain a proven tenancy record so that they can move on to independent accommodation when they feel ready.
The aim is to help them gain confidence and improve self-worth while being supported to gain the valuable life skills they will need to maintain an independent tenancy.
At least twice a week there is a communal meal that is facilitated by our wonderful Open Door volunteers.
All tenants are encouraged to participate in the preparation of the food and the clearing up after.
These sessions help to maintain the friendly community balance in the house and integration.
The property is a wonderful period semi-detached house in a residential area.
It can house 6 people at a time, and there is no time limit to their stay, unlike many supported accommodation providers.
The accommodation is situated over three floors. Each room has a lockable door and is fully furnished with its own fridge.
There is a communal dining room, fully equipped kitchen and laundry room as well as two bathrooms over two of the floors.
The property also has some off road parking and gardens to the front and rear.
External agencies are more than welcome to refer into the service and should you require more information please phone the office on 01782 844718.
